How it Happened:
Conscious Corner grew organically. In 2000, the seeds were planted and Roots Market
sprouted. As Roots grew, it became evident that more food options were
needed to accommodate a wider variety of customer needs. So, the meat
and seafood department displaced the small gift section — and in 2003
it moved and built a Nest of its own a few doors
down. After repeated requests for healthy, hot vegetarian food at
Roots, it was clear that the customers were identifying a need. After
much germinating, another branch emerged in 2004: Great Sage Restaurant.
With the trunk firmly rooted, the nest well built, and the sage wildly
spreading, it was time to focus on our animal friends. In 2005, Bark bloomed. |
